Sons Charles Adelbert and Lewellyn Herbert Whipple

Orrel and Chloe had two sons in the army -- Charles Adelbert and Lewellyn Herbert; Charles A. returned in safety from his two years' campaign, but reenlisting, was taken prisoner and starved to death in Salisbury prison, aged 20. Lewellyn enlisted at 15 years of age, and died of fever in hospital at Washington, D. C.
