Life of Frederick Platt Benedict

Frederick Platt Benedict was born April 7, 1866, the only son of David and Harriott Benedict. He grew up in Norwalk with his five sisters, and attended the public schools there. In 1884, he matriculated at Kenyon College, his father‘s alma mater, but in the spring of the following year contracted a cold which became pneumonia. He died March 11, 1885 ending the line of Benedicts' descending from Platt Benedict, the founder of Norwalk. [1]
