Footnotes

Obituary of Elizabeth's mother, from Rootsweb:
PATTERSON, Mrs. William - Windsor, Sept. 3 - Mrs. William R. Patterson, one of the most beloved and respected women of her district, died Friday night at her home in Upper Falmouth. The deceased was born in Chester, 72 years ago, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Lantz, and had been married fifty-three years. Mr. and Mrs. Patterson had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary three years ago, when a large number of their children and grandchildren and friends had gathered at the old home to offer congratulations on their long and happy wedded life. Mrs. Patterson was a member of the Church of England and was prominent in the work of the Woman's Guild, and in politics a lifetime and outstanding Liberal. For some months, Mrs. Patterson had been in failing health so her passing was not unexpected. Besides her husband she is survived by six daughters and seven sons. The daughters are, Mrs. Freeman Benedict, Mrs. Frank Elderidge, Mrs. Leslie Peach, Mrs. William Manning, Mrs. Starr Stoddard, of Falmouth, and Mrs. Charles Mosher, of Loyalist, Alberta. The sons are, Charles, of Northboro, Mass., John, of New Glasgow, Earl of Alberta, Freeman, Arthur and Lewie, of Falmouth, and Clarence at home.
