J.T.C. from Ancestry.com On the obituary of his father, Ard's death, May 19, 1924 Gordon is mentioned as living in Regina Saskatchewan. There is reason to believe, he moved later to Arizona, USA, as he is again mentioned in sister Marguerite's obituary as Gordon of Arizona, USA. ---+++_Gordon and Christina_ Albert George "Gordon" met Helen Curtis, born abt. 1893 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA to John Curtis and Edith Myrtle, "Myrtle looks to me, to be Veyotte". They were married 31 July 1915, by Bernard Bryan of the Church of England, in Toronto, York County, Ontario. A quiet wedding with witnesses, Mary Bryan, same address as the minister and Mrs. L. Wallace, probably a neighbor, same street as other witness. The registration was received 9 Aug 1915. Licence issued 31 July 1915 in Toronto, County of York, by "looks to me like" F. Mansusen of Toronto. (From Ancestry.ca) ---+++_The Final Years for Gordon_ G. A. BENEDICT RETIRES AFTER 40 YEARS SERVICE WITH INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER - - - Born in Chesley, Bruce County, Ontario. Gordon A. Benedict began his career with International Harvester of Canada in 1912 at Regina "Ben" had started his business life with the Grand Trunk Railway, but had decided to heed the call "Go West, Young Man, Go West." At the time of the great influx of settlers and the consequent boom in 1911, before joining Harvester, he was employed for a short time by the Union Bank, (which later amalgamated with the Royal Bank of Canada. After serving as a collector and corespondant at Regina until 1926, he was promoted to the position of Collection Manager at Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Five years later, in 1931, he became Assistant Manager of the Canadian Credit and Collection Department with headquarters in the General Office, Chicago, March 1, 1941. He was appointment District and Collection Manager with the reorganization of the Canadian company with headquarters in Hamilton, GA. Benedict was appointed Manager of Credit and Collection Department January 25, 1944. "Ben" soon had an opportunity to use his wealth of credit experience to begin setting up new credit arrangement for a revised Dealer Franchise. His knowledge of International Harvester Business from coast to coast throughout Canada was a decided asset to the company during the post war business years. He was instrumental in completing credit arrangements for dealer and customer financing on a nation wide scale through several of Canada"s leading Finance Companies that work in the development of Harvester Canada's credit and collection organization and stands as a tribute to his outgoing managerial ability displayed so frequently and effectively throughout the years. As he retires from active business Ben Benedict takes with him the best wishes of his International Harvester friends, and associates for many years of good service and happiness in his well deserved Retirement. After years of service, Gordon retired as Credit Manager for International Harvester Co., of Tucson, Arizona and died there a few years after.
