Footnotes

1. Most of the rough information was obtained from handwritten notes by Donna Parker of New Minas, Nova Scotia. Obtained by J.B. on a personal visit the summer of 2004. No supporting sources available, although her research was carried out at the Kentville, Kings County Museum and on field gravesite visits.

2. from Rootsweb:
BENEDICT, Mrs. Jacob - At Windsor Forks, Feb. 7th, Sarah, beloved wife of Jacob Benedict, after a lingering illness, aged 60 years, leaving a husband, two sons and two daughters to mourn their loss. Deceased was a member of St. Michael's Anglican Church and was held in high esteem for her many good qualities. The funeral was held the following Sunday and was largely attended. The services at the home and at Maplewood Cemetery were conducted by the Rector, Rev. W. T. Suckling.

3. from Rootsweb:
BENEDICT, Mrs. Mary - At the Forks, Windsor, May 5th, Mrs. Mary Benedict, relic of the late Jacob Benedict, after a short illness, aged 94 years and 4 months.
(Note: this must be another Jacob Benedict, but I put it here for eventual relocation. J.B.)
