Jame’s Early Years
James and Frances Margaret Adair
Frances Margaret Adair was the first of seven children in the family of William Adair and Ann Elizabeth Welch. Born on June 28, 1880, she was raised in Newcastle, New Brunswick. There is some information that her mother was previously married to a Mr. Marten, and that he was Frances' father.
Frances and James were married in Newcastle on March 12, 1901. Frances lived for 52 years, passing away in her home town.
Severl of their children moved away from Newcastle; Audrey went to Nova Scotia and Grace moved down to Moncton. James, Ralph and Arnold "Foker" went into the United States. According to a grandchild, Ralph and Arnold used to go back to Canada and hunt deer quite often.
