I have been involved in genealogy for over 40 years and I a member of the Alberta Family Histories Society and have been for 17 years. I have helped plan a couple of seminars and was Through our discussions about the seminar and the consequential dissolving of the committee, Jacqueline and I got together and have started up our own business. It is called The Reunion Planners. We help plan and organize family reunions and offer genealogy services as well. I am in a government sponsored Women's Venture program which is part time Tuesday and Thursday nights for 6 months and with a 6 month follow up as well. I started my program March 11, 2008. Have met 12 other really nice ladies who all have various business ideas. As of July 2008, I am working solo at The Reunion Planners. Jacqueline backed out.

I have also for four years, as of 2009, been helping as a volunteer to help with family history coaching at the W.R. Castell Library downtown. This program runs the last Saturday of the month from September to November and then again from January to June.

I have also been helping friend with her business. She does industrial hearing tests for several clients in Calgary and as far away as Innisfail. For 5 years, up to April 14, 2008 Friend also worked for a granite company and also has them as an industrial hearing client. .

In April 2009, I did a power point presentation on Planning a Successful Reunion at the Edmonton Genealogical Societies conference to 7 people. I also had a display set up for Reunion Planning company with brochures, business cards, two quilts and video on Andy's laptop of one of our families. All went over really well and in May I was asked to write an article for the AGS quarterly publication, elaborating on my talk in April. I did this and sent it in and got a complementary copy in September.

Also in 2009 I put up posters in 23 community centres in Calgary offering to teach a series of genealogy workshops. I am doing two at Confederation Park 55+ Activity Centre. These two I am getting paid for. The third one is for free and is being done in conjunction with the AFHS the last Saturday of the month following the one-on-one family history coaching. I had 7 people at this one. There were 2 at the first one at Confederation Park and 6 at the second one.

Also in 2009, I have published two genealogy e-books which are for sale and I am working on a genealogy pod cast. I have interviewed several people connected with places that have genealogy resources available.
