Winnifred’s Early Years

Winnifred Mary Smith was born July 4, 1909 in Manchester, New Hampshire. She was the seventh child born to Alexander and Mary Smith. In about 1912 the family moved to Davidson (Lothian), Saskatchewan. Winnifred's father ran the local post office. In 1917 and 1918 sister Ida Catherine and brother Warner passed away.

_Winnifred Smith and Henry Fichtner

_On April 11, 1928 Winnifred Smith married Henry Fichtner in Regina, Saskatchewan. In 1928 daughter Edythe was born; in 1929 son Herbert was born; in 1937 daughter Avis was born and in 1939 daughter Gladys was born. All children were born in Imperial, Saskatchewan. Winnifred and Henry moved to White Rock, B.C. in 1960. On January 21, 1983 husband Henry passed away in White Rock, B.C. at the age of 84. Winnifred moved to Calgary in 1983 and in passed away January 31, 1986 in Calgary.
