He was one of the persons taken prisoner in the British expedition to Danbury, and carried to New York. He d. in the sugar house, a victim to British cruelty.

b. about 1707; m. May 21, 1729, Mabel Noble, at New Milford, Ct. He d. Sept. 28, 1781. He was one of the sufferers by the burning of Danbury by the British troops under Gen. Tryon, April 27, 1777; and his heirs were allowed, May, 1792, by the state of Connecticut, œ205 4s. 8d., for damage done to his property. Distribution of his estate took place March 27, 1782. No widow mentioned. Heirs of son Matthew, deceased, received œ317 4s. 4d.; Noble, Zadock, heirs of Thankful, wife of John Hopkins, deceased, Jonah and Abijah, each received œ158 12s. 4d.; total, œ1164 12s. 10d. (Prob. Rec., Danbury, Ct., vol. IV, p. 235.) Ch.

He d. in the sugar house, a victim to British cruelty. (Hinman's Connecticut in Revolution, p. 587.) For the destruction of his property at the sacking of Danbury, his heirs received from the state œ334 10s.; they also received from the estate of Matthew, Senior, œ317 4s. 4d. Ch.
