Benjamin STARR was born about 1683. He served in the military in 1733. -Lieutenant of the Militia -Resigned 13 Oct 1738 He died on 29 Nov 1754. Parents: Josiah STARR and Elizabeth HICKS. He was married to Eunice TAYLOR . Children were: David STARR, Elizabeth STARR, Eunice STARR, Deborah STARR, Abigail STARR.

Thaddeus Benedict graduated at Yale College 1773; lawyer by profession; probate clerk in 1776; removed to Reading; selectman 13 Feb 1778; appointed justice of peace in Reading in 1783 and continued until 1795. Represented Reading in the General Assembly of CT May 1783, 1784, and in 1790, Oct 1790, May 1794, Oct 1794, and May 1795. In 1795, he sold his property in Reading and moved to Bridgeport, CT, but died at Reading in 1799. He was one of the most celebrated lawyers of his day, and had a very large and extensive practice. The early reports of cases show he practiced in every county of the state (p. 302%CITE{1001}%).
