Chester Charles Smith was born September 6, 1917 at Davidson, Saskatchewan. He was the second of five children born to Rodney and Emma.

Chester Smith and Mary Wood

Chester Smith married Mary Wood September 1, 1945 in Liberton, Saskatchewan. They had four children: Noreen, Marion, Sheila and Lyle. Chester operated a trucking business, was a real estate salesman for Stampede Realty with brother's Wilfred and Robert. Other jobs he had were farmer, drayman and soldier during the second world war. Chester passed away September 4, 1984 in Calgary at the age of 67.
