The Parents of Abraham
Abraham was of the third-generation of Benedicts pioneering on New England soil. He was the fifth child for Samuel Benedict and the third for Rebecca Andrews. Abraham's father was raised in the English colony on the east end of Long Island, who then came to Connecticut in about 1665 as a young lad. Abraham's mother Rebecca came from the Andrews family of Fairfield county.
Abraham's Early Years
At sixteen years of age, he and his parents left the birthplace on Long Island, landing at Connecticut.
