The original document, signed 5 April, 1883 in Wellesley, MA, lists Francis Millen as marrying Margaret Ellen Kehoe, both of Needham, MA. He lists his age as 21 and she as 15. Francis writes "Laborer" as his occupation, and Margaret as a domestic. His birthplace is Nova Scotia; hers is Granville. It was the first marriage for both. Charles' parents are listed as John and Catherine (Benedick) Millen. Margaret's parents are Thomas and Annie (Kane) Kehoe. They were married by P.D. Cowan, Pastor of the Congregational Church in Wellesley.

NEHS provided a copy of Edith Eliza Millen's birth records. She was born 15 November 1886 in Needham. Her parents, Francis and Margaret E. (Kehoe) Millen, list their birthplaces as "Nova Scotia" and "Waltham", respectively. Francis lists his occupation as "Laborer".

NEHS provided a copy of Margaret Ellen Kehoe's birth records. She was born 10 August 1867 in Waltham. Her parents are listed as Thomas and Ann, and the birth record lists Margaret simply as "Maggie". The birthplaces of both parents are "NS" or possibly "NH". Thomas lists his occupation as "Laborer".
