Phoebe's Early Years

Phoebe and Allen

Allen Mills was born in 1819 and was the son of Zebediah Mills and Asceneth Huntley. He and Phoebe and their young family appear on the 1861 Census in Elzevir Township, Hastings County. Allen died in 1869 leaving Phoebe with seven children still at home according to the 1871 Census.

Phoebe and John

Not much is known about John Langman although it appears he, like Phoebe, was a Widower when they married. Phoebe and John appear together on the 1881 Census in Hungerford Township and by then, all Phoebe's children had left home. Phoebe Langman died in Tweed on July 30, 1901 of dropsy.
