George Craighead; b. 01 Dec 1831, d. unknown ---+++_William and Barbara_ William Craighead married Barbara King on 29 May 1819 in the Parish of Cruden. They had a family of six children when a great epidemic of cholera spread through Scotland in 1831/1832. Burial records show that the father, William, and three children Margaret, John and Matthew were all buried in the same grave on 07 Jan 1832. Barbara, the mother survived and raised the remaining young family during those very difficult times. The eldest child, William born in 1821 emigrated to Canada in 1844. The second child, Sylvester born in 1822 remained in Scotland, married Jane (or Jean) Johnston on 22 Nov 1846, and lived in the Parish of Old Deer, Aberdeenshire, where he died in 1884. The youngest child, George was born on 01 Dec 1831, baptized on 06 Dec 1831. There is no further information on George who was only a month old when his father and three siblings all died. It is questionable that he would survive such a time. ---+++_References_ Ref.1 - Old Parochial Registers for the Parish of Cruden in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. These were reviewed on microfilm through the Family History Centre of the Church of the Latter Day Saints.
