DEATH OF MISS CAROLINE BENEDICT: --- After being ill for the past month, Miss Caroline Benedict died late Tuesday night at the home of her brother, Mr. Herbert Benedict, St. Vincent Street, Meaford. Miss Benedict was in her 83rd year, and was born in St. Vincent Township, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Benedict. For the past 40 years she had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Benedict, and where no effort had been spared during the past few weeks in an endeavor to relieve her sufferings and restore her health. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ben Vail of Collingwood, and Mrs. Reg Emary of Meaford and two brothers, Albert of Owen Sound, and Herbert of Meaford. Rev. Wm. Harrison, pastor of Meaford Baptist Church, of which Miss Benedict was a member, conducted the service at the Gardiner Funeral Chapel on Friday afternoon. The pall-bearers were five Nephews: Messers. Roy Benedict, Gordon Benedict, Charles Benedict, Gerald Vail, and Frank Emary, and Mr. J.A. Craig. Interment was made at Lakeview Chapel.
