April 24, 1949 ---+++_The Parents of Charles_ ---+++_Charles's Early Years_ Little is known of Charles as a young man. ---+++_Footnotes_ Charles Frederick Millen Jr. of Massachusetts lists the following descendents of Charles E. Millen on his website (http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/m/i/l/Charles-F-Millen/tree1.html): Frederick Austin Millen m. Agnes Victoria Anderson Charles Frederick Millen, b. 18 June 1918, d. 4 Nov 1992 Barbara Jean Millen, b. 22 Nov 1929 http://www.NewEnglandAncestry.org, a website provided by the New England Historical Society, provided the information on Charles E. Millen's marriage. The original document, signed 22 October, 1885 in Wellesley, MA, lists Charles Edward (Millen) [not sure why last name was in parentheses as others listed did not have this] as marrying Eliza Lane, both of Needham, MA. Both were 23, and Charles was listed as a laborer and Eliza as a domestic, and both listed their birthplace as Nova Scotia. It was the first marriage for both. Charles' parents are listed as John and Catherine (Benedick) Millen. Eliza's parents are Edward Lane and Elizabeth (Leavey). They were married by P.D. Cowan, Pastor of the Congregational Church in Wellesley. Eliza Lane her family are listed on the 1871 Hants County Census in Nova Scotia. They are living in Windsor Forks (Dwelling 49/Family 49), next door to Jacob and Sarah Benedict (Dwelling 50/Family 50) and down the street from Robert and Elizabeth Benedict (Dwelling 46/Family 46). On the 1881 Hants County Census, Charles Millen is living with his older brother Robert Benedict and his family, which is probably how he and Eliza Lane met. %BIBLIOGRAPHY{header="---+++_Sources_" referenceTopics="BibliographyReferences" order="citation"}% -- Main.TracyRounds - 22 Feb 2007
