1 <B>Thomas<SUP><I>2</I></SUP> Benedict</B> (<I>[[GenerationPage#DownToA][Thomas]]<sup>1</SUP></I>); born about 1640 at Southold, Long Island, (then) New Netherland.  In 1662 he removed with his father's family to Jamaica on Long Island, and in the year following the town granted him a home lot.  He was married in January 1664/65 to Mary Messenger, daughter of Andrew Messenger.  They moved to Norwalk in 1665/66. Thomas died in November 1688 at Norwalk, Connecticut.%CITE{1001}%<BR>

12 <B>Thomas<SUP><I>3</I></SUP> Benedict</B> (<I>[[#DownTo1][Thomas]]<SUP>2</SUP>, [[GenerationPage#DownToA][Thomas]]<SUP>1</SUP></I>); 
born December 5, 1670 at Norwalk, Connecticut.  He married 1st Rachel on May 13, 1697, daughter of Samuel and Rachel (Marvin) Smith of Norwalk, she born 1672-3. He was often fence viewer and surveyor between 1692 and 1723; selectman 1709-11 and 1730 and 1732. He is called ensign in 1717. Rachel _"the virtuous and pious consort,"_ died on Dec. 1, 1737.<BR>
He married 2nd on Oct. 14, 1740, Hannah Knapp of Danbury, and died May 10, 1743. His inventory, which includes one negro man Winsor, amounted to £160. His will was proved June 5, 1744.%CITE{1001}%<BR>

born Oct. 29, 1701; married May 21, 1725, to Deborah, daughter of Jonathan Waters of Jamaica, Long Island; she born 1699 and died March 2, 1757.  Pounder, lister, fence-viewer, tything-man and surveyor often between 1723 and 1747. He died on February 11, 1757. Will recorded March 17, 1757%CITE{1001}%.<BR>
