Jessie’s Early Years

Jessie Benedict met and married in Woodstock, Stanley McFadyen a well known, East Zorra Twp., Oxford co., farmer. They migrated to the west and obtained land in Ruthilda, Saskachewan. There they homesteaded, Built their home and prepared the land and planted their wheat crops, until June of 1959 when Stanley took sick and died, leaving Jessie to sell the farm and move back to Woodstock in 1960.

McFadyen, Jessie May -- Of Searchmont, at the Plummer Memorial hospital, Sunday June 29, 1975, in her 83rd year, born at Woodstock, Ont., member of Ruthilda United Church Sask., predeceased June 1959, by her husband Stanley of Ruthilda Sask., where they homesteaded and farmed until his death.Returned to Woodstock in 1960. Resided with her nephew, Mr. and Mrs Lawrence Benedict of Searchmont for the past two years, survived by several nieces and nephews. Resting at Barton and Kiteley Funeral Home, Monday, June 30 from 7 p.m. Funeral and Committal service will be held from the chapel Tuesday, July 1 at 4 p.m., Rev. E. Irvine Johnson officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Sullivan, nurses and staff of Plummer Memorial Hospital.
