LE GRAND L. BENEDICT DEAD
EX-GOVERNOR OF NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE DIES IN PARIS AT 68.
Paris, Oct. 28. - Le Grand L. Benedict, former Governor of the New York Stock Exchange, is dead from pneumonia. Death took place at his home here. His wife was Miss Sarah C. Blaine.
Mr. Benedict was born in this city in 1855, a son of the late James H. Benedict, banker and President of the Chicago & Atlantic Railway, and a descendant of a family that came to New England in 1600. He was educated at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, entered banking and founded L. L. Benedict & Co. He retired ten years ago and made his home in Paris. His wife, son, *Le Grand, Jr.*, and the latter's wife lived there with him. James H. Benedict of 875 Park Avenue is a brother.

LeGrand and his wife lived most of their life at their Paris home, traveling back to the United States often. There are many ships passenger lists for them, mostly arrivals in NY from France.
