[[HannahBenedict174x][Hannah Benedict]]; 174x- ---+++_Nathaniel and Hannah Keller_ ---+++_The Revolutionary War_ After the British burned all of the recorded deeds in Danbury, April 1777, the Connecticut House of Representatives suggested that they take steps to reestablish their land rights, etc. At a town meeting Nov. 18, 1777 a committee was chosen to assist persons in collecting the necessary conveyances for their quota of men in the continental army, viz: Nathaniel Benedict. At the same meeting another committee was chosen "to have one committee man in each school district to procure clothing for their quota of men in the continental army," viz: Nathaniel Benedict. Nathaniel attained the rank of sergeant in the colonial army. He served in Capt. Symour's company in Colonel John Mead's 9th Regiment of Connecticut militia, from Aug. 12, 1776 to Sept. 13, 1776 and from Oct. 24, 1776 to Jan. 24, 1777 in the same company and Regiment State of Connecticut under the command of General Wooster of Connecticut Militia.
