After their marriage Phoebe and Alexander lived in Chesley and raised their first four children. In 1882 they packed up their family and imagrated to, Neche Twp., Pembina County, North Dakota, USA. They became American Citizens and after having six more children, they can be found on the 1900 United States Federal Census with eight of their children. Margaret and Lucinda, now married, are not with them.
