Her parents were one of the orignal settlers of Jamaica, Long Island. ---+++_Thomas’ Early Years_ ---+++_Thomas and Rachael_ Rachael, born in 1672 or '73, was the daughter of Samuel and Rachael [Marvin] Smith of Norwalk. Referred by her husband as "the virtuous and pious consort," she passed away 64 years later on Dec. 1, 1737. ---+++_Thomas and Hannah_ After three years of being a widower, Thomas was married to Hannah Knapp. He died less than three years later. His cousin [[AbrahamBenedict1681][Abraham Benedict]] married a Rebecca Knapp in 1720, but it is not yet known if the women were related. ---+++_The Final Years for Thomas_ His inventory, which included one negro man Winsor, amounted to 160 pounds sterling. Thomas passed away in 1737 at the age of 72 years and 5 months.
