He attended with his family the Benedict reunion at Eldridge Park, Elmira, NY of 14Aug1902 and was elected 2nd Vice Pres. of the Benedict Organization. (See the American, Greene, NY 21Aug1902.) See Death Record, "The Chenango American, Thursday, 17Sep1914." William D Benedict, one of Greene's oldest and most respected citizens died at home on South Canal Street, Sunday night. A man of excellent habits, fine moral character and sturdy constitution. A farmer, he followed that line of work long past the age at which men normally do. He was a cheerful spirit. Funeral, Wed., conducted by Rev Percy T Olton of  Zion Church. Eastern Ligtht Lodge No 126 F & A M conducted the service at grave at Sylvan Lawn Cemetery. He m 2nd Anna R Smith, b 17Jun1839 Greene. Her former husband was member of Chenango Chap. Eastern Star. Res: Greene, NY. Death records mention CH: Mrs. George Mosher of Greene, NY, Mrs Charles Dibble of 122 Chenango St., Binghamton, NY, Mrs Flora Spears, and Mrs Arthur R Merchant of 39 Lake Ave, Danbury, CT. Ch: <BR>
