The Parents of Joseph

Joseph’s Early Years

Joseph and Emma Danbrook

Sam and Bunny family Emma was the daughter of William and Ellen Danbrook and was born on Feb. 5, 1891 in Ontraio. She passed away in 1953 in Elma twp., Perth co., Ontario, five years after Joseph.

In 1930, Joe and Em purchased Concession 9 Lot 22 as a farm. During the late 1930s Joe built a new silo and raised the barn to put a new main wall under it. In 1946 Joe sold the farm to his son Sam and daughter-in-law Bunny. A new implement shed was built in 1956, the barn burned that same year. Sam and Bunny remained on the farm until 1958 when the farm was bought by Harry and Beth Danbrook.

In the photo we have in front: Bunny and Sam Acheson; back row: Wilma and Bev Acheson; Lynda Acheson (m. to Paul Schott); Kevin Acheson (son of Wilma and Bev)2.

Noted: The census uses the 'Atcheson' surname spelling. Also, the head of the household is 'James' and not 'Samuel'. Since the other family names and the dates are a reasonable match, this is the correct family.
