  1. David Willard Culbert; b. October 1903 and d. March 01, 1984 at the Freeport Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario, aged 80 years, buried March 09,1947 in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg, Ontario. David Willard met and married Elma Haufschild, and raised one son, who in turn raised two grandsons. Known as Irish Culbert, Willard was a former New Hamburg Counciller and was active in his early years as a minor hockey coach, trainer and team executive. He also coached a girls ball team. He also was a coach and umpire for various ball leagues. He was employed at the Hamburg Felt Boot Company for more than 50 years

  1. Margaret Culbert; b. January 09, 1909 and d. June 01, 1947 aged 38, buried June 15, 1947 in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg, Ontario. Miss Margaret never had a chance to marry. She completed her public and continuation school education in New Hamburg, then entered the employ of the Bell Telephone Company at the local office. She succeeded Mr. L Hostetler as manager of the local exchange but was forced to relinquish the post due to ill health. she was a member of the company's Pioneering Club.a member of the local Baptist church and very active in the young peoples work of her church. She was also an ardent bowler and was a member of the Ladies bowling Club. She led an active promising life, but following a lengthy illness, her life was cut short at an early age.

Harriet died February 03, 1972 aged 88 years and was buried February 05, 1972 in riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg, Ontario.
New Hamburg Independent; Wednesday, February 09, 1972. Mrs. N. Culbert of 204 Jacob St., Mew Hamburg, died Feb. 3, 1972 at St. Mary's General Hospital; born 87 years ago at Chesley; resident of New Hamburg for 69 years; the former Harriet Benedick. Survived by one son, Willard, New Hamburg and one grandson; predeceased by one daughter, three brothers and one sister.Funeral and committal services were held Saturday February 5th at 2:30. Temporary entombment in the Graff Memorial Chapel of Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg.


Howard was born July 18, 1875 and died 1951 aged 76 years and was buried 1951 in riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg.

Howard N. Culbert, the death occurred at his home on Jacob street early last Saturday morning of howard N. Culbert at the age of 75 years, following a paralytic stroke suffered two weeks previously. The late Mr. Culbert was born in Little Britain, Victoria county, on July 18, 1875, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Culbert. In his youth he learned the baking trade in Lindsay and came to New Hamburg 50 years ago. He was employed at the Hamburg Felt Boot Company for 18 years, leaving there to join the district office of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., Later he returned to the Hamburg Felt Boot Company,to take charge of the treeing department. He was a member of Nith Lodge No. 96. I.O.O.F.,New Hamburg. His marriage to Harriet Benedict, who survives him, took place on Aug. 5th, 1902. Also surviving are one son , Willard, New Hamburg; a brother Mahlon, of Lindsay, and one grandson. A daughter, Margaret predeceased him three years ago. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon from the Futher-Omand Funeral Home, with Rev. W. B. Fisher, Pastor of the local Baptist church, officiating. Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg.
