First Generation

A. Thomas1 Benedict; born on the 17th and baptized on the 30th of November, 1617 at Stratton St. Michael in Norfolk, England. He sailed from England to America in 1637, departing in June and arriving in the Massachusetts Bay Colony by August of that year. Two years later, in about 1639, he married his step-sister Mary Bridgham, daughter of John and Grace Bridgham, and who had been on the same voyage. Thomas died in March 1689 at Norwalk, Connecticut. Mary lived on another 29 years until about 1718, passing away also at Norwalk.1,2
