Thier marriage date is unknown. They removed to New Canaan on Joune 20, 1733.%CITE{1001}% He joined, by letter the Congregational Church, of which he became Deacon.
John and Mary
Mary's family and birth is unknown at this time. She survived another 30 years after John's death and is buried adjacent to him in the Lakeview Cemetery of New Canaan, Connecicut.

Her headstone reads, in part:

Mary Benedict
Wife of Deacon John Benedict
4th of Norwalk
December 7, 1800 in her 70th (?) year
Headstone is located in Lakeview Cemetery in New Canaan, Connecticut.
The final Years for John
John's will was made February 19, 1779 just eight days before his passing and was proved on April 17, 1770.

His headstone reads:

(The 3rd of Norwalk)
