Thomas’s Early Years

Thomas was a grand juror, surveyor, tything man an fence viewer between 1745 and 1759. He died about the close of 1760 and his widow was probably deceased before December 1762, as the children then had guardians appointed for them in her place.

The inventory of his estate amounted to £247 18 sh, was approved March 3, 1761, and distributuion among his nine children (all born in Norwalk, Connecticut), was ordered accepted by July 5, 1763.1

He is mentioned in the will of his father as deceased before May 20, 1763.

  • Abigail; b. 1752; married November 19, 1776 to Hezekiah Gregory of Danbury; removed to Milton, Saratoga county in 1790, and settled March 1793 in New Lisbon, Otsego county, and died Nov. 2, 1834, aged 82. She died July 12, 1836. Their son, Rev. Seth Gregory, died Dec. 17, 1869.
