Notes for Reuben Fairchild:
Reuben was referred to as "Deacon Fairchild". After his marriage to Mellona they remained in New Lisbon, NY until 1834. He was a shoemaker by trade, but he always had a small farm. In 1834 the family left New Lisbon for Ohio. They stopped in Erie, PA for one year, then went on to Medina County, Ohio and settled in Sharon Center, where they lived for nineteen years. Finally Reuben sold the home and they moved to Montville, Medina County, Ohio to finished out the rest of their lives.
