Judging by the Legal Marriage Document below,it seems that Martha A. is just a nickname for Margaret Alice. On the same note it seems that the legal name for Williams, father, Ard, is Arnold.

William BENEDICT, 30, Cabinet Maker, Chesley, s/o Arnold Benedict and Christina Kelso, married, Margaret Alice Cousins, 32, Loom Operator, Cargill, d/o William Cousins, (Watch Repairer) and Amelia Williams, witn., Margaret Purdy and Stella Fortner both of Cargill, December 29, 1909 at Cargill. ------ Date of Return, December 30 1909, Solemnized by A. A. Fortner, Cargill. By Licence.

In 1911 Census, William is married to Martha A., and was self employed as a carpenter. William and Martha were living at Lot 31 Concession 1, Elderslie Twp. Martha was born in July of 1878. THEY LATER MOVED TO KINCARDINE.

The Final Years for William and Martha

William died, June 10, 1935, and buried, June 13, 1935 in Kincardine Cemetery, Bruce County Ontario.

Martha died, November 23, 1947, and buried, November 25, 1947 in Kincardine Cemetery, Bruce County Ontario.
