The parents of Wilfred Arthur Smith were Rodney Smith and Emma Dewey.

Wilfred Arthur Smith was born February 22, 1919 in Davidson, Saskatchwan.  He was the third child of five born to Rodney and Emma.  

---+++_Wilf Smith and Doris Markstad_
Wilfred Smith married Doris Markstad March 9, 1945 in Calgary. They have two daughters: Heather Dianne Smith and Beverley Gayle Smith.  Wilf sold real estate for Foothills Real Estate.  He then formed Stampede Realty Limited with brothers Robert and Chester. Wilf was also with the air force during world war two.  Wilf passed away January 22, 2002 in White Rock. He was just one month short of his 83rd birthday.

Over the years Wilf and Doris lived in Calgary, Alberta; Victoria, B.C., White Rock, B.C.  They were back and forth between Calgary and White Rock several times.  
   From 1939-45 hewas in WWII.  He trained in Vancouver, Ontario and Calgary. They moved to Elk Point.  In 1947 daughter Heather was born in Elk Point.  She was the first baby born in the hospital that year.  They lived in a house on the farm of Doris's sister Ila and brother -in-law Max's farm.  They lived for a time in Red Deer.  In 1948 they moved to Rosebud.  In 1949 daughter Beverley was born in Calgary.  In the spring of 1952 they moved to Calgary.  Wilf worked as a salesman for Foothills Real Estate.  He was owner of Stardust Motel in Penticton, B.C.  Was part owner in Bonny Brooke Truck Wash with brother Bob.  He also owned and worked with brothers Bob and Chester in Stampede Realty Ltd.   In 1966 Heather married Royston Styler, a man from Gosport England, in Calgary.  In 1968 grandson Trevor was born in Calgary.  In 1970 Beverley married Gordon Jaremko in Calgary.  In 1975 grandson Jacob was born in Calgary.  In 1976 granddaughter Rebecca was born in Edmonton.  In 1977 grandson Kevin was born in Calgary.  In 1978 granddaughter Sara was born in Edmonton.  In 1980 granddaughter Deborah was born in Ottawa.  In 1982 Heather and Roy divorced.  In 1983 Heather married Andrew Jaremko, brother of Gordon.  From 1984-1996 Wilf and Doris lived in Victoria, White Rock, Calgary, White Rock, Calgary, White Rock and Calgary.  In 1994 grandson Trevor married Marta Franklin, a girl from Poland, in Banff.  Also in 1994 first great grandson Justin was born in Calgary.  In September 1996 Wilf and Doris left White Rock to live again in Calgary.  They found a place to move into but could not take possession til November 2.  They spent 7 weeks living in hotels.  Also in 1996 first great granddaughter Elisia was born in Calgary.  On November 30, 1998 Wilf had cataract surgery on his left eye at the Gimble Eye Centre in Northwest Calgary.  On December 1 he went back for a check-up and he has 20/20 vision in the eye.  The surgery took 14 min. 14 seconds to do.  Wilf was scheduled for the surgery at 4 p.m. but was not done til 5 p.m.  They did 23 surgeries that day.  On December 30 movers are packing up Wilf & Doris's things and December 31 they are moving to White Rock.  They bought a condo at 302 1785 Martin Dr.
