Hannah Benedict; b. 6 Jul 1791 in Sharon, Vermont ---+++_The Parents of Samuel_ ---+++_Samuel’s Early Years_ ---+++_Samuel Benedict and Mary Dibble_ Mary, a daughter of John Dibble, was born September 28, 1746 and died August 24, 1825. In 1771, Samuel married Mary and they resided at Sharon, Vermont where all the children were raised. He was there in 1780. See _Hall's Vermont,_ page 387 for an account of his escape from the Indians%CITE{1001}%. They settled in Hull City and South Hull in 1801%CITE{1001}%. Samuel owned 600 acres along Mountain Road. He first built a shack, then a fine residence in 1805. See Anson A. Guard's 1906 publication%CITE{1001}%. In September, 1972, a bronze commemorative plaque was unveiled on the old farm by two, sixth generation descendents of Samuel and Mary, Mary-Louise Benedict (age 16) and Brenda McKay (age 14).
