Alexander's Life
Alexander emigrated from Scotland in 1844 with his parents and siblings. He grew up on the family farm on Lot 22, Concession 6 of Seymour Township, Northumberland County. The register of marriages for the Burnbrae Church records his marriage to Elizabeth Third on 14 June 1855. The 1861 census for Innisfil Township in Simcoe County, Ontario, records him as a blacksmith. The 1871 census for Seymour Township shows that they were living on their 50 acres farm on Lot 15, Concession 3, which they had purchased on 7 Dec 1863.
