James’s Early Years
James emigrated from Scotland in 1844 with his parents and family. He grew up on the family farm in Seymour Township.
James and Margaret
James married Margaret Gilpin in 1866. At some point they moved to South Simcoe County where he was recorded in the 1871 census as a carpenter. Later he is reported to have operated a mill near Stroud in Simcoe County. Both James and Margaret died in Flos Township, Simcoe County, and were buried there.
