1.343.2 Gilbert⁵ Benedict (Nathaniel⁴, Nathaniel³, Samuel², Thomas¹); born 1745; married Mercy Weed of Stamford, Connecticut, she born 1752 and died Aug. 4, 1826; enlisted in Revolutionary army, May 12, 1775 in Captain Enoch Noble Benedict's 6^th Company of Colonel David Waterbury's 5^th Continental Regiment of Connecticut; discharged Oct. 6, 1775.%CITE{1001}%^, %CITE{1022}% Gilbert died on Dec. 4, 1827 and is buried with Mercy at Blocktown Cemetery.%CITE{1002}%

Seventh Generation

1.343.215 Reuben Weed⁷ Benedict (Enoch^6,, Gilbert⁵, Nathaniel⁴, Nathaniel³, Samuel², Thomas¹); born Aug. 26, 1814; was a wagonmaker; married Nov. 4, 1844 in New York to Almira, daughter of Reuben and Elizabeth Irish (the widow Williams); she born Jan. 16, 1818. Her death date is not yet known, but it is said that Almira sold their family home and moved to Hutchinson, Kansas, where her daughter Elizabeth and husband ran a hotel. Reuben Weed died Feb. 2, 1868 at Brant, Erie county, New York.%CITE{1002}%

1.343.215.4 Almira Jane "Myra"⁸ Benedict (Reuben Weed⁷, Enoch^6,, Gilbert⁵, Nathaniel⁴, Nathaniel³, Samuel², Thomas¹); born Nov. 28, 1851 at Brant, Erie county, New York; married July 31, 1870 to Merrill "Lamott" Hawkins; died Dec. 14, 1883 at Brant, New York and was buried at Brant Methodist Church beside her father. Lamott was the son of Merle/Merrill Hawkins and Mary B. Wiley; born July 5, 1851 at Edinboro, Erie county, Pennsylvania and died Dec. 5, 1923 at Freeport (now Wayne), Wood county, Ohio; buried at Graham Cemetery, Wayne, Ohio.
